This project is being developed in the same spirit, with the purpose of bringing educators all over the world useful tools for the development of educational software that will run on the Internet.

The main purpose of project Prometeo is to create powerful tools for the development of educational software that can be used directly on web pages, and to make these tools readily availabe to educators all over the world.

Prometeo is being developed using the Java programming language and its popular Applets, which are software units that can be embedded in web pages with the same ease as an image or a link.

A special name is given to the Prometean Applets. They are called KEPI in English. The initials KEPI stand for "Kernel for Educational Programs on the Internet". In Spanish the name is NIPPE, which stands for "Núcleo Interactvo para Programas Educativos".
